The iconic structure has a total height from 328 metres. This makes it the tallest building in New Zealand and the southern hemisphere.
As central entertainment facility the Sky Tower is found at the corner of Victoria and Federal Street on the map of Auckland New Zealand. From ground level to the very top the structure measures 328 metres. This sets it under the 15 tallest towers of the world. The Auckland City skyline is greatly influenced by it. Designed by the architects Gordon and Craig Moller the tower opened on March 3rd in 1997. Amongst regional awards the Sky Tower received the New Zealand Institute of Architects National Award.
Each day in average 1,450 persons visit the building complex to mingle, dine, enjoy, test their senses, game, or be entertained. Built originally for Harrah’s Entertainment, a name that changed in November 2010 to Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the tower belongs to the SKYCITY Auckland casino.
Starting from top to bottom of the tower, the aerial serves broadcasting, observation, and telecommunication services. One hundred ninety metres above ground a restaurant revolves per hour 360 degrees. Other highlights are the observation decks, the Sky jump from 192 metres, and Skywalks around on the exterior.
