Picnicking at Makaroa Falls
A hike for about 35 minutes until picnicking at Makaroa Falls is in reach. As starter serves the view into the valley towards the waterfall. Then a steep descend into the valley allows an idyllic rest at the bottom of the waterfall basin.
Afterwards the Goldie Bush Walkway can be presumed. It is a more demanding tramping path leading along and at times through the stream. Sometimes it is even a bit hard to read the path. However, unspoiled idyll is the reward with a waterhole deep enough to take a dip.
For dog owners it is important to know their four legged friends are not allowed on this track, since the walk crosses private land and relies on the goodwill of their owners.
