No room for a view?

When embarking on my New Zealand exploration I decided I'd do it the rather cheap way...
I set out for my adventure with little more than my plane ticket and, barely, my bus fare home. See, I'd little in the way of plans other than 'adventure'. Upon landing things seem to dawn on me, where would i stay? I was on holiday of sorts, yet no accommodation, thank fully the web has plenty of options to find holiday rentals at short notice!
