The term camper van can cause some confusion. Some are built to comply with the Self Sufficient Certificate which is required to stay overnight in some parks. The certificate would make them a smaller equal to a motor home.

More often New Zealand camper vans simply offer the comfort of gas cooking facility, fridge, and water tank and in some occasions a camping toilet. A sleeper van also called bedmobile offers usually space to sleep two adults.

The family owned company rents out New Zealand camper vans and sleepervans to independent traveller. His fleet comprises of Toyota Lite Ace, Town Ace and Toyota Hiace. Each sleeps comfortably two adults.

Freedom camping is regulated in each region of New Zealand differently. However there are plenty camp grounds to choose from in tourism centres or more remote where powered or non powered sites are available.

They grant ideal conditions to cruise along from one scenic attraction to another and spend the night comfortably at any camping park. Best of all, the tedious task to put up and down a tent after each change of location can be spent with more exciting things like making new friends, exchanging travel highlights or just having a drink with your New Zealand camper van neighbour.

The minimum sleeper van rental is for 14 days or 6 days for a New Zealand camper van with return to starting point. With depots in Auckland and Christchurch it is easy to start touring the Islands for 21 days and more. Explore either from north to south or vice versa. At request Hein also takes care to pre-book the ferry transfer in Wellington or Picton for you. A smooth and convenient arrival in is granted with Hein’s airport pick up service.

Cooking utensils are optional and can be rented for an additional fee. Experience tells it pays of to drive them around. Especially in remoter regions you will appreciate being able to make your own sandwiches and eventually heat water for a cup of coffee or tea. On many campgrounds some kitchenware is provided, yet it can be otherwise. However more flexibility comes with using your own.

The Sleepervan optional kitchen pack includes:

1 gas cooker, 1 dish bowl, 1 dish-wash/brush, 2 tea towels, 1 chopping board, 1 large & 1small knife, 1 can /bottle opener, 8 piece cutlery-set, large spoon (black), turner (large black), 1 fry pan, 1 set of pan + lid, salad utensils (2pcs), 1 large salad bowl, 2 plates, 2 desert bowls, 2 coffee mugs, 2 wine tumblers, 2 large tumblers.
