Maldives Holiday
An Island Country In The Indian Ocean


In the Indian Ocean a Maldives holiday takes place on a double string of coral reefs. On the satellite view of Google just a slight change of blue shade is noticeable in a north to south direction. It barely leaves the impression that land surfaces water. The archipelago is officially named Republic of Maldives. The distance of about seven hundred kilometres to the south west of Sri Lanka make it the world’s most unlikely island country. About 90 thousand square kilometres of land are spread over almost 12 hundred islets.

The population of roughly 310 thousand Maldivian people populate approximately 200 of them. One third of the total population lives in Male. It is both capital and largest city of the Maldives Islands.
