South-east Asia is the destination for Malaysia travel. The federal constitutional monarchy of Malaysia is home to an estimate in 2010 of over 28 million Malayan.
Largest city and capital is Kuala Lumpur is located in the western part. More than 1.8 million people call the city home. South of Kuala Lumpur the former seat of the federal government lays Putrajaya. The City was build for the purpose to accommodate the federal government in more spacious conditions. Putrajaya , Kuala Lumpur and Labuan are the country’s three federal territories.
The territories and thirteen states spread over an area of about 330 thousand square kilometres. Separated by the South Sea of China, there is Peninsular Malaysia or East Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo or West Malaysia. The west shares borders with Thailand and Singapore. Meanwhile the eastern Peninsular Malaysia has land borders with Brunei and Indonesia.
