Long Bay Beach
The beach is part of Long Bay Regional Park and its famed New Zealand scenery around the Hauraki Gulf. The location is north of Auckland.
The park goes beyond the shoreline into the Okura Marine Reserve.
Beach lovers come in masses on weekends and on public holidays as well as on Christmas day to take pleasure in safe swimming conditions, sandy beach, public picnic areas with BBQ facilities and an extensive playground area.
West Auckland Fans
A coastal walk following the cliffs with occassional access to more remote beaches ends in Pohutukawa Bay. There at low tide the return can be taken along the beach, right back to Long Bay.
