Leaving the European winter with plenty of freezing cold and grey days New Zealand embraced with mild and sunny days in its late summer. They were ideal to take off our New Zealand vacations with trips to captivating New Zealand beaches. Auckland activities abundantly revolve around beautiful panoramic coastlines. The east beaches of the Waitemata Harbour are calm, while the Tasman Sea in the west surprises with energetic surf and long stretches of black sand beaches. Sun thirsty we visited one after another. However, soon the west became secretly our favourite coast.
The Waitakere Ranges that stretch from the western suburbs to the coast invite to endless hiking trips. Walks along the coast grant scenic views while bush, and rainforest show off distinct regional flora and its bird life.
Cultural and natural highlights
Attractively we could balance outdoor outings with Auckland’s cultural offerings and fun activities for kids. You might be wondering if there could be natural beauty and cultural life in profusion. Yes. Auckland has numerous city beaches and in about an hour drive in any direction the metropolis is almost forgotten. So combining both worlds and staying in a city accommodation is a viable option. Around the east coast public transportation is widely on offer. The west is better accessible for independent traveller by hiring a car or taking part in organised tourism tours.
We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
