The historic Corban Winery Estate bestows the frame of the Corban Estate Arts Centre. It takes an important role within the community in featuring a varied arts and cultural program. Amongst are exhibitions, gallery shop, and artists studios. Diverse educational programmes, ranging for adults, children, as well as for schools, complete the picture.

On the grounds art studios give space to sculptors, painters, ceramic artists, and graphic designers.

Sept 3 - Oct 17 METONYMY

Metonymy -- Auckland wide artists from different disciplines are matched in a 2 month blind date. Their creation phase concludes in the selection of artworks to be exhibited.

It is the third year the third year that artist with backgrounds in visual, literary, film, dance and theatre are matched. This years panel of senior artists and writers who choose created artworks for exhibition include: Christine O?Brien, Riemke Ensing, Simon Ingram and John Daly-Peoples.

PULL POKE FOLD by Wendy Kawabata

The centre forms the exploration of simple activities of the hand, remediation of everyday materials and feminine making processes in contemporary art practice.

PORTS OF CALL by Beth Serjeant

She explores the emigration of her ancestors from Europe to New Zealand with an installation of artifacts like found objects and domestic craft that illustrates and embellishes the route taken to reach the antipodes.
